Philips Bulb 8718696472187, Look really good, and though a bit expensive

A good quality, sturdily constructed lamp that is the same size and produces a light output as bright as its 60w gls or 42w halogen equivalent. Colour temperature seems the 2700k stated, which is of a high quality and flicker free as well. A small electronic ballast operating the lamps 6 led filaments is mounted in the screw base. The lamp stays cool in operation, including the screw base, its power consumption measuring the stated 7. My only gripe is the cost, as there are other products of similar spec available on amazon at half the price of this item.

Look really good, and though a bit expensive. Bought these bulbs to enhance an outside lamp (steinel l 15). Look really good, and though a bit expensive, hopefully will save money on running costs.

But gets just three stars because it’s not an led filament bulb as the listing implies, as the frosted equivalent to the clear one that is shown on the same listing. The actual item is marked philips on the top but ‘feels’ cheap, it looks nothing like the classy item in the photo and has a thin (plastic?) casing. These are light bulbs, with nothing else to offer at all and very expensive for what they are. I can buy this ‘corn on the cob’ technology at the same rating for a couple of pounds from china. I’ve had problems with philips (cfl’s) before but thought such a renowned company would have got it’s act together by now. I did buy 6 of the clear bulbs at the same time and they are as listed. My comments refer to this frosted version. Update – these are currently 4 € each on amazon.
